What is Backwoods Black Russian?

A limited-edition Backwoods run, five cigars to a pack, shelved with our gear rather than with the flower. The name comes from the drink and the flavouring follows it honestly: coffee liqueur in front, cola and dark sugar underneath, and the leaf holding the bottom end together.

How does it taste next to Backwoods Vanilla?

Black Russian is the darker of the two. Vanilla is plain sweetness laid straight over the natural leaf, while this one stacks coffee liqueur over cola and dark sugar and then closes dry instead of sweet. Take Vanilla for something simple, Black Russian when you want the finish to bite back.

Why is there no grade or percentage on the pack?

Because this is a leaf and flavour product, not graded flower. Nothing on a Backwoods pack is graded the way our flower is, and we are not going to invent a number for it. What you are actually choosing between is the flavouring and the pack itself.

Is Black Russian a permanent flavour?

No. Black Russian is a limited-edition run, so it exists only as long as the run does — once it is gone, the flavour goes with it. Chocolate is the other limited edition on our gear shelf; Vanilla is the plain one, and the one to reach for if you want familiar.

Named after the drink, and it tastes like someone meant it: coffee liqueur first, cola and dark sugar behind, the leaf holding the bottom. A limited-edition run, five cigars to a pack, and nothing on them is graded the way flower is.

The Black Russian character

The darkest of the three we carry. Coffee is the lead note — roasted rather than bitter — with a cola sweetness under it and a dry, almost smoky finish. If Chocolate is dessert, this one is the drink after it.

These are tobacco cigars, not cannabis: no strain, no grade, no THC figure. They sit on the papers, wraps and accessories shelf beside the Juicy Jays blueberry hemp wraps, and we stock them for the same reason.

How they smoke

Slow, and the least sweet of the three.

The coffee holds longer than the cocoa in Chocolate does, so this is the one people are most likely to smoke straight rather than split. If you are splitting it anyway, how to use a blunt roller covers that, and what a blunt actually costs does the arithmetic.

How is Black Russian different from Russian Cream?

Different flavour, not a rename. Russian Cream is the creamy one — vanilla and custard forward. Black Russian is the coffee-and-cola one, drier and darker, and it is a limited-edition run rather than a standing line.

Which of the three is the least sweet?

This one. Chocolate is the sweetest and Vanilla sits between the two.

How should I store a Backwoods 5-pack?

Sealed, cool and out of direct sun. Heat and open air are what dry the leaf, and dry leaf cracks the second you unroll it. We keep ours in a drawer, not the fridge.

How do I pay, and how fast is delivery?

Local GTA delivery lands within 2 hours of order confirmation, 12PM to 10PM, 365 days a year. Outside the GTA we ship Canada-wide by mail order, paid by card or e-Transfer. Pay by Interac e-Transfer, which carries a 5% fee, or cash on delivery on local orders. Every delivery is 19+ with government-issued photo ID checked at the door.
