Windsor sits at the southwest end of the province, on the south bank of the Detroit River, geographically inside Essex County but running its own affairs as a single-tier city. Getting the parcel to the right door

Riverside Drive runs along the water past riverfront parks and high-rise office towers and apartment buildings, so waterfront and downtown orders need a unit number and buzzer code in the notes. In South Windsor, where most houses went up from 1950 onward, and in Forest Glade, built on former farmland in the late 1960s and early 1970s, a house number and a street is the whole job; Roseland, mostly pre-war and on very large lots, is no different. Out in Ojibway, lightly developed and still largely wooded, and across the roughly 23 square kilometres Windsor annexed from the Town of Tecumseh in 2003, south and east of the airport, addresses sit on rural roads such as North Talbot Road, so add a landmark. Put Windsor on the municipal address line even if everyone still calls the area Walkerville or Sandwich.
