Pink Wagyu

Pink Wagyu is whole-bud AAAA indica from our Gas Series shelf, sold in 7G, 14G and 28G. This lot of the Pink Wagyu strain reached us with no grower paperwork, no stated lineage and no lab sheet. So this page has no family tree and no THC percentage. A number nobody tested is a number somebody made up.

The photos are this batch, so start there. From a step back the buds read silver-grey: trichome frost laid thick over dusky green, heavy enough on the left-hand bud of the main shot to wash it pale silver. Closer in, the dark comes through. Sugar leaves have gone deep purple to almost black and sit tucked between the calyxes, and the right-hand bud carries a lavender cast along its leaf edges. Thin rust and copper pistils curl across the surface, plenty of them but fine, spread out rather than matted into clumps. Where the frost thins, a fleck of bright lime green shows.

Shape is the other thing the close-up gives away. Each bud is a stack of rounded, tight clusters, chunky and dense, with a tapered crown on the bigger pieces. Trim is close, and the leaf left behind is the dark kind, mostly hugging the bud instead of sticking out from it.

An indica, and we stock it as one

Indica on our label means the heavier, slower end of the menu, and that is where Pink Wagyu belongs. Expect it to settle into the body more than the head: relaxing, unhurried, better suited to a couch and a late film than to a to-do list. A bag like this is usually saved for the last stretch of the day, when winding down is the whole plan.

If you just want something bright for a working afternoon, skip this one. The sativa side of the shelf does that job; this does not.

The nose: one claim, not a tasting note

The Gas Series is the shelf we keep for fuel-forward flower, and Pink Wagyu is filed there. That placement is the only smell claim this page makes. Older copy on this listing carried a detailed tasting note, but it described an earlier lot, and a description carried across batches stops being true the day the bag changes. Break a bud when it arrives: most of the smell is locked inside, and a whole nug undersells it.

If you only smoke on weekends, a 28G bag gets opened and closed for weeks, and the brightest part of the smell leaves first. The 14G is the sensible middle: it arrives as two separate 7G bags, so one stays shut while you work through the other. Smoke most nights and already know you like a heavy indica? Then the 28G saves you a trip back to the menu every few days.

Where the dark colour comes from

The near-black in these photos is pigment. Cannabis leaves carry anthocyanins, the same family of compounds that colours red cabbage and blueberries, and while the plant is green and growing, chlorophyll hides them. Late in the plant's life the chlorophyll breaks down, and in some genetics, especially when nights run cool, the anthocyanins are left showing. On this lot the dark sits mostly in the sugar leaves, while green still shows underneath, which is where those lime flecks come from.

What the colour does not tell you

Anthocyanins have no smell of their own and do nothing for strength. A purple bud is not stronger than a green one, and anyone selling colour as potency is selling the photo. What does track quality is the frost: how much of the surface is coated, and whether the resin heads look intact rather than rubbed flat. Pistil colour helps too, since rust and copper hairs like these generally point to a plant that was left to finish rather than cut early. Check those two things on any bag you buy, including ours.
