Almost all of King City's shops are on King Road between Keele Street and Dufferin Street, or on Keele Street south of King Road. King City GO, a stop on the Barrie line, is at 7 Station Road.

Laskay lies west of Highway 400, south of where King Road meets Weston Road. The King Heritage & Cultural Centre, once the Kinghorn museum, stands at 2920 King Road at the west end of King City.
The 15th Sideroad and Dufferin Street
Each crosses the Barrie line at grade, and with Station Road they make up the line's three level crossings in the township.

The geography of getting to you

The Station Road level crossing beside the GO platform, one of three the Barrie line makes at grade here, is where a run sits still for no visible reason. Off the village grid an address becomes a sideroad or a concession, not a street number. King City sits on the southern slope of the Oak Ridges Moraine among its kettle lakes and ponds, and that landscape breaks the grid: Bathurst Street does not run straight through King. A map kilometre is not a driving kilometre here, and the township’s 114 kilometres of gravel road come back slowly after a storm.
King City lots run large and set well back — Kingscross Estates was laid out on two-acre-plus lots on their own wells and septic — so gate codes and “the laneway after the mailboxes” belong in the delivery note, not a message sent after the driver has passed the turn.
