What actually happens after you place a Vaughan delivery order?

Order any day between 12PM and 10PM, spend at least $60 CAD, and a driver brings it to your Vaughan address within two hours of the order being confirmed. You have to be 19+ with government ID at the door, and a local run is paid cash on delivery or by Interac e-Transfer.

Vaughan keeps two clocks

One belongs to commuters. Mornings drain toward Vaughan Metropolitan Centre — the city centre at Highway 7 and Jane Street, northeast of the Highway 400 and Highway 407 interchange, where Line 1 of the Toronto subway ends — and toward the Barrie line’s two Vaughan stops, Rutherford and Maple. The other clock belongs to work that does not stop at five: Concord, the industrial district bounded by Steeles Avenue on the south and Rutherford Road on the north, and the Vaughan Enterprise Zone in the west end, 1,668 hectares of goods-movement business pressed against the Toronto, Brampton and Caledon borders. A late-evening order from a house in Vellore and a late-evening order from a shipping office in Concord are the same job to us, and both sit inside the window.

What $60, $10 and $150 mean on a Vaughan order

Minimum order is $60 CAD, local delivery is a flat $10, and at $150 CAD the fee comes off. Ounces on the ounce deals shelf start at $59, and one ounce plus any second item clears the minimum. Every order of $60 or more goes out with a free gift. Flower is sold in 7g, 14g and 28g.

The geography of getting to you

Vaughan hangs off Highway 400, which runs north to south and crosses the east-west Highway 407 at a four-level stack interchange. Interchanges on that stretch of the 400 sit far apart, so a single collision between them can cripple kilometres of the corridor for hours — we plan around that, we do not promise around it. Highway 427 has run north to Major Mackenzie Drive since September 2021, which opened up the west side. MacMillan Yard is roughly three kilometres by one kilometre of rail boxed in by Highway 407, Keele Street, Rutherford Road and Jane Street, and there is no straight line through it. Above Teston the subdivisions give out: the north end of Maple is still largely rural, and stays that way to the King Township line.

Two details save time here. If the address is one of the residential towers at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, put the unit number and buzzer code in the order notes. If it is a rural property north of Teston, tell us which laneway is yours. Either way, meet the driver at the door with ID in hand.

• Pioneer Village station, at Steeles. Under Steeles Avenue at Northwest Gate, the station straddles the city line: its northern portion is in Vaughan, its southern portion in Toronto. The Vaughan-side entrance sits beside a York Region Transit bus terminal and an on-street passenger pick-up and drop-off area.
• Highway 407 station. This one lies outside Toronto, at a Jane Street address in Vaughan, with its entrance about 100 metres west of Jane; its 18-bay regional bus terminal, inside the station building, serves GO Transit and York Region Transit buses.
• Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. The district is rising on the site of Edgeley, a farming village founded in the early 1800s, and street names such as Edgeley Boulevard, Millway Avenue, Apple Mill Road and Applewood Crescent carry its legacy. From its subway station, open since December 17, 2017, underground corridors lead north to the nine-bay SmartVMC Bus Terminal and south to the Vivastation on the Highway 7 rapidway. Highway 7 here has been a regional road since the province handed it to York Region in 1997, but addresses on it, the station’s included, still read Highway 7.
• Vaughan Mills. The outlet mall, open since November 2004, sits in the southeast quadrant of the Highway 400 and Rutherford Road interchange, south of Canada’s Wonderland. York Region Transit buses use the Vaughan Mills Terminal on its northeast side, near Rutherford Road and Jane Street.
• Canada’s Wonderland. The park opened in 1981 in Maple, bounded by Highway 400 on the west, Jane Street on the east and Major Mackenzie Drive on the north, and ramps were added to the Rutherford Road overpass on the 400 to serve it. Drivers still come off the 400 at Rutherford Road and go north on Canada’s Wonderland Drive.
• Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. Open for full service since June 2021, the 11-storey hospital stands on the northwest corner of Jane Street and Major Mackenzie Drive, on land Canada’s Wonderland once owned. Major Mackenzie West Terminal, a YRT bus terminal on the park’s side, links to it by a pedestrian underpass.
