Cannabis has been legal in Canada for years now, but if you’re relatively new to consuming it, you’re probably still pretty confused as to how all of the pricing works for various quantities of cannabis. 

Good news — you’re not alone. When ordering from a delivery service, one question people often ask is, “How much is a blunt?”. One thing you need to know before that is what is the average price of a blunt.

Quick answer (September 2026): rolling your own blunt costs about $10–$17 — an $8 King Palm cone plus a gram of flower, which works out to $2.11–$9.29 per gram when bought as a quarter or an ounce. If you’d rather skip the rolling, a ready-made infused 1.2g pre-roll is $15 and a basic pre-rolled joint is $5 on our current menu.

How Does a Blunt Cost Compare to Pre-Rolled Joint?

Pre-rolled joints and blunts differ in price and it all depends on the quality and quantity of cannabis in the pre-roll. On our menu right now, standard pre-rolled joints are $5 each. A step up from that, infused moonrock pre-rolls — 1.2 grams of flower rolled with concentrate and kief, the closest ready-made thing to a blunt — run $15 each. 

Blunts are a bit of a different story. A standard blunt contains 0.5 to 1 gram of cannabis, though larger blunts can hold up to 2 grams or more, wrapped in a leaf wrap instead of rolling paper. Rolling your own with an $8 pack of King Palm organic leaf cones plus a gram of flower puts a 2026 blunt at roughly $10–$17, and a fat 2-gram roll at up to about $27. Note that for edibles like weed brownies the price will be different too.

How Much Is a Blunt Depending on Grams?

While quantity is not the only price-defining factor, it’s one that you should know your way around. It’s one of the most important things you should know about before buying a blunt.

One Gram

Most delivery menus in the GTA — ours included — have moved away from selling flower by the single gram; quantities now start at a quarter ounce. Bought that way, a gram works out to about $2.11 (on a $59 ounce deal) up to $9.29 (on a $65 AAAA quarter). If you only want one roll’s worth, a $5 pre-rolled joint or a $15 infused 1.2g pre-roll is the simpler buy.

Two Grams

If you ever hear someone say they want a “twenty”, this refers to two grams of weed. At today’s bulk-equivalent rates, two grams works out to roughly $4.22 to $18.58 worth of flower — enough for one oversized blunt or two average ones.

3.5 Grams (Eighth)

3.5 grams is also known as an “eighth” of weed because it’s 1/8th of a full ounce. Straight eighths have mostly disappeared from delivery menus — ours starts at quarters — but the math is still worth knowing: at our current $55 quarter price, an eighth’s worth of flower comes out to about $27.50, and it rolls roughly three to seven blunts depending on how you pack them.

7 Grams (Quarter)

A quarter ounce of weed is where bulk pricing starts. It’s popular because it provides enough cannabis to last a while without being too bulky or expensive. On our menu today, quarters run $40–$55 for AAA strains and $65 for quad (AAAA) strains.

14 Grams (Half)

This is where bulk weed pricing really starts to take effect. It’s a great option for regular users or those who want to save money by buying in larger quantities. Half ounces on our current menu go for $60–$90 on AAA strains and $110 for top-shelf quads.

28 Grams (Ounce)

A full ounce of weed consists of 28 grams and it is the basis for what everything else is measured off of. All of the previous weed measurements are based on a fraction of an ounce. As of September 2026, 1 oz deals on our menu start at $59, AAA ounces sit at $98–$140, and premium AAAA ounces run up to $180.

How Do I Know If I Can Trust a Dispensary?

There are a couple of things to look out for when you’re picking your cannabis source. Make sure everything checks out — this way you’re less likely to get fooled into buying overpriced blunts.

• Check the license, since dispensaries in Canada must be licensed by the government
• Read reviews, checking to see what other customers say about the dispensary
• Make sure they have transparent pricing policy and clearly talk about product details like THC/CBD content or strain type
• Pay attention to the staff — they need to be professional and knowledgeable about what they sell

One more check: cannabis is 19+ in Ontario, so a service that never asks for ID is a red flag in itself.

If you meet staff or sellers who are pushy, uninformed, or don’t want to answer your questions, maybe you should try another place. It helps if you learn more about strains and quality indicators to really know when someone is trying to fool you.
