How Much Is a Quarter of Weed? (7g Prices in Canada)
Contents
TL;DR
A quarter of weed is 7 grams — one quarter of the 28-gram ounce. As of October 2026, quarters at KingCrop run $55 to $65 CAD: the AAA shelf sits at $55 and every AAAA quarter is $65. Same-day GTA delivery and Canada-wide mail order, 19+ only.
How much is a quarter of weed? With eighths now off the menu, the quarter is the entry point to our flower board — and what it costs depends almost entirely on which shelf the strain sits on.
Here’s the weight, the live prices, and the honest math on when a quarter makes sense — and when it doesn’t.
What Is a Quarter of Weed?
A quarter is 7 grams of flower — a quarter of an ounce. Cannabis pricing in Canada calls the ounce an even 28 grams, so the quarter lands at 7 and the half at 14. In practice, 7 grams rolls somewhere between 8 and 14 joints depending on how generously you pack them.
The quarter is the smallest bag on our shelf, and it’s where a lot of first-time flower orders start. For the top rung of the ladder, our full ounce price guide runs the 28-gram numbers in the same detail.
How Much Is a Quarter of Weed in Canada in 2026?
At KingCrop, as of October 2026, a quarter runs $55 to $65 CAD. The AAA shelf is the easy answer: nearly every AAA strain carrying a quarter prices it at $55 — Candy Rain, Donkey Butter, Pink Goo, Pink Tomford, all the same number.
AAAA quarters don’t float at all right now: every strain on that shelf — Mango Haze, Pink Rockstar, LA Kush Pop and Frosted Cherry among them — is $65 for 7 grams. All of those quarters except Pink Rockstar’s were in stock on our flower board when we checked the menu in October 2026; Pink Rockstar was down to ounces only.
Live Quarter Prices, Strain by Strain
Here’s a slice of the board, pulled straight from our live menu. All prices in CAD, as of October 2026.
Notice what the table gives away: a AAAA quarter costs only $10 more than a regular-price AAA quarter. That narrow step is where the smart small buys live, and our AAAA lineup prices every strain at that same $65.
The Per-Gram Math: Quarter vs Half vs Ounce
A $55 AAA quarter works out to just under $8 per gram. Move up the same shelf and the rate drops fast: the $80 half is about $5.70 a gram, and the $140 ounce is an even $5.
The steepest saving skips the ladder entirely. Catch the $59 ounce deals — Candy Kush, Blue Dream and Platinum Oreos as of October 2026 — and you’re at about $2.11 a gram, which means two AAA quarters bought separately cost $110 and hand you 14 grams, while $59 on a deal ounce hands you 28. Half the flower for more money is a hard sell, and we say that as the people selling it.
That’s the quarter’s real role: it buys certainty, not volume.
Why Our Smallest Bag Is 7 Grams
We used to list eighths. We dropped them: at our pricing the 3.5-gram bag saved almost nothing over the quarter — usually $40 against $55, so $15 back in your pocket for half the flower. The quarter is the smallest size that still feels like a real bag — enough to learn a strain’s character before you commit to 28 grams of it.
AAA or AAAA: Which Quarter to Pick
Our take: with every AAAA quarter at $65 as of October 2026, the louder jar costs $10 more than a $55 AAA quarter — pocket change at this size, so take the AAAA quarter if the strain appeals. Just know the premium is steeper per gram in a small bag: a $65 AAAA quarter works out to about $9.29 a gram, while the same strain’s $180 ounce is about $6.43.
If you’re not sure what the grades actually measure, our AAA vs AAAA breakdown walks the whole thing — density, trim, terpenes — in plain terms.
Who Shouldn’t Buy a Quarter
An honest word: if you finish 7 grams in a week and reorder like clockwork, the quarter is the wrong buy for you. Four quarters a month at $55 is $220 for the same 28 grams a $140 ounce — or a $59 deal ounce — delivers in one go. The full ounce, not the quarter, is our most-ordered flower format, and the per-gram math is the whole reason why.
The quarter earns its keep for the opposite buyer: the once-in-a-while smoker whose ounce would dry out half-finished, and anyone auditioning a strain before a bigger order.
Ordering a Quarter: Mind the $60 Minimum
One detail worth knowing before checkout: our minimum order is $60, so a single $55 quarter doesn’t quite clear it on its own. A $65 AAAA quarter does, and so does $55 plus anything small — most of the order book is repeat customers, and pairing a quarter with a pack of gummies is the classic move we see.
Delivery is a $10 flat fee under $150 and free at $150 and up, as of August 2026. Free gifts start at a $60 order, and we run 12PM to 10PM, 365 days a year, with orders landing within 2 hours of confirmation. Picture a Thornhill porch on a wet October evening: ID out for a quick look, and a sealed 7-gram bag changes hands with the receipt tucked beside it. We offer same-day delivery in Thornhill and across the GTA — our delivery coverage map gives you a yes or no in seconds.
Outside the GTA, quarters ship Canada-wide by mail order, with free Ground shipping once the cart hits $150. Every order, porch or parcel, is 19+ with ID — a valid driver’s licence or passport.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many grams are in a quarter of weed?
A quarter of weed is 7 grams. Canadian cannabis pricing rounds the ounce to 28 grams, and a quarter is exactly one quarter of that. Rolled up, 7 grams typically makes between 8 and 14 joints, depending on how much flower you pack into each one.
How much does 7 grams of weed cost at KingCrop?
Seven grams of flower costs $55 to $65 CAD at KingCrop as of October 2026. AAA quarters are $55, while every AAAA quarter is $65.
Why does a quarter cost more per gram than an ounce?
A quarter costs more per gram because small bags carry the same handling as big ones. At $55 for 7 grams you pay just under $8 a gram, while a $140 AAA ounce works out to $5 — buying once in volume is what pulls the rate down.
Does a $55 quarter meet the KingCrop minimum order?
A $55 AAA quarter does not clear the KingCrop minimum order of $60 on its own — it sits $5 under the line. Add any small item, pick a $65 AAAA quarter, or grab two quarters and you clear it easily. Local delivery orders under $150 carry a $10 flat delivery fee, and mail orders pay the shipping rate shown at checkout, as of August 2026.
Are AAAA quarters always more expensive than AAA quarters?
AAAA quarters cost more than AAA quarters on our menu as of October 2026, but only by a little: every AAAA quarter is $65 CAD and most AAA quarters are $55. At 7 grams that $10 step is a small price for the grade upgrade.
