Navigating Weed Measurements: How Much is an Ounce of Weed?
How Much Is an Ounce of Weed in Canada? 2026 Price Guide
Contents
TL;DR
An ounce of weed is 28 grams. As of September 2026, a full ounce at KingCrop runs $59 to $180 CAD depending on grade: 1 oz deals start at $59, standing AAA ounces run $98 to $140, and AAAA ounces are $180. Same-day GTA delivery and Canada-wide mail order, 19+ only.
How much is an ounce of weed? Customers ask us that more than any other question, usually right before their first bulk order. The honest answer comes in two parts: a weight that never changes, and a price that moves with grade, strain and supply.
This guide gives you both — the measurements, and the exact prices sitting on our menu today.
What Does an Ounce of Weed Weigh?
An ounce is 28 grams. Strictly speaking, the imperial ounce is 28.35 grams, but cannabis pricing across Canada rounds it down to an even 28, and every figure on our site works from that number.
The rest of the ladder follows by halving: a half ounce is 14 grams, a quarter is 7 grams, and an eighth is 3.5 grams. If you want to see how far the ladder climbs, our guide to grams in a pound of weed runs the whole table.
A note on our own shelves: KingCrop sells flower in quarters, halves and full ounces. No eighths — at our pricing, the quarter is the sensible small size, and the full ounce is where the math gets interesting.
How Much Is an Ounce of Weed in Canada in 2026?
At KingCrop, as of September 2026, a full ounce runs $59 to $180 CAD depending on the shelf. The floor is our 1 oz deals shelf, which starts at $59 as of September 2026. It is a rotating pick of AAA strains bought in volume, and what sits on it changes week to week — check the shelf rather than chasing a name.
Step up to the standing AAA menu and an ounce runs $98 to $140 depending on the strain. The AAAA shelf tops out the range at $180 an ounce, the same price on every AAAA strain we stock.
Full ounces are far and away our most-ordered flower format. If you’d rather scan every grade side by side, start from the full flower menu and work down.
KingCrop Ounce Prices by Grade
Here’s the whole flower board in one table, checked against our live menu on September 24, 2026. All prices in CAD.
The AAA flower menu runs $98 to $140 an ounce depending on the strain, while the AAAA shelf keeps flat pricing on every strain — Pink Rockstar and every other AAAA ounce we stock are $180 as of September 2026.
Why a Full Ounce Costs Less Per Gram
Run the division and the discount is plain. A AAA quarter at $55 works out to just under $8 a gram. The same grade as a full ounce at $140 is an even $5 a gram. Catch a 1 oz deal at $59 and you’re barely above $2 a gram, at $2.11 — the cheapest way to buy flower we sell.
Put it another way: four AAA quarters bought separately cost $220. One AAA ounce is $140. Same 28 grams, $80 apart.
That’s the whole trick: buy once, pay less per gram.
What Moves the Price of an Ounce?
Four things, mostly. Grade does the heavy lifting — denser bud, cleaner trim and louder terpenes push a strain up the board from AAA to AAAA. Strain demand matters too: hyped genetics carry a premium while the hype lasts, then settle back down.
Supply is the quiet one. Harvest timing and how deep we can buy on a strain decide whether it lands on the standing menu or rotates into the deals bin — and that rotation is the fourth lever, because when we buy deep, the saving shows up on the ounce price. What we actually see in orders: regulars watch the rotation and time their restock around it.
Ounce Deals or the Grade Menu: How We’d Choose
Buying your first full ounce? We’d point you at the $59 deals before anything else. The strains rotate, the grams don’t, and the per-gram math is the friendliest on the site.
If you already know exactly which strain you’re after, the AAA menu at $98 to $140 buys the full pick of the board. The AAAA shelf is for the particular buyer — if you can read a jar by smell alone, that’s your aisle. Most of our orders come from repeat customers, and plenty of them worked their way up exactly that path.
And an honest word: if you smoke once a month, don’t buy an ounce. It will dry out long before you finish it, no matter how good your jar is. A $55 quarter fits that pace far better — buy fresh, finish it, come back.
Keeping 28 Grams Fresh
A full ounce takes most people weeks to work through, so storage is part of the purchase. An airtight glass jar in a cool, dark cupboard does most of the job; light and open air strip flavour fastest. Skip the fridge — temperature swings pull moisture in and out of the bud.
We wrote up the full routine, jars and hiding spots included, in our guide on how to store weed properly.
Getting an Ounce Delivered Across the GTA
Every ounce on the menu except the $59 deals clears our $60 minimum on its own, so ordering is simple. Delivery is a $10 flat fee under $150 and free at $150 and up, and free gifts start at a $60 order. We run 12PM to 10PM, 365 days a year, and orders land within 2 hours of confirmation. Pay cash at the door or send an e-Transfer.
The northwest GTA — Bolton, Maple, Woodbridge and King City — is our home turf, though we cover the whole map; a quick look at our GTA coverage map gives you a yes or no in seconds. Picture a July evening on a Bolton driveway: the cooler bag comes out, the ID gets a quick look, and 28 grams changes hands in under a minute.
Outside the GTA, we ship Canada-wide by mail order — card or e-Transfer on those, with free Ground shipping once the cart tops $150. Two $120 ounces get you there with room to spare. Every order, local or mailed, is 19+ with ID: a valid driver’s licence or passport.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many grams are in an ounce of weed?
There are 28 grams in an ounce of weed. Strictly speaking the imperial ounce is 28.35 grams, but cannabis pricing across Canada rounds it to an even 28. From there the ladder halves: a half ounce is 14 grams, a quarter is 7 grams, and an eighth is 3.5 grams.
How much does an ounce of weed cost at KingCrop?
A full ounce at KingCrop costs $59 to $180 CAD as of September 2026. The 1 oz deals run $59 to $109, standing AAA ounces run $98 to $140, and AAAA ounces are $180.
Why are 1 oz deals cheaper than the regular AAA menu?
The 1 oz deals are volume buys: we bring in select AAA strains in bulk and rotate them through, which lets us price a full ounce from $59 (as of September 2026) instead of the regular shelf price. You get the same 28 grams — the trade-off is choosing from that week’s rotation rather than the whole board.
How long does an ounce of weed stay fresh?
An ounce of weed stays fresh for months when it’s stored well. Keep it in an airtight glass jar in a cool, dark spot and it will hold its flavour and aroma well past the point most people finish 28 grams. Light, heat and open air are what dry it out fastest.
Do you deliver full ounces same day in the GTA?
Yes — KingCrop delivers full ounces same day across the GTA, within 2 hours of order confirmation, from 12PM to 10PM, 365 days a year. Every customer is ID-checked at the door: 19+ with a valid driver’s licence or passport.
