How To Quickly Dry A Sample Of Bud In A Few Steps

If you have a new strain of cannabis that you can’t wait for your friends to test out, knowing how to quickly dry a sample of bud is a useful technique that will speed up the process. It’s good to note that a sample of cannabis that’s been dried quickly typically won’t be as good as a batch of cannabis that’s been cured and dried over a longer period of time. Curing and drying cannabis properly will eliminate the harsh effects that uncured cannabis can sometimes cause.

With drying your bud quickly, the THC levels will still be completely intact. Even though cannabis can tend to get a little crispy with a quick approach, you’ll still feel high in the same ways. Learning these methods will allow you to smoke your cannabis in no time at all.

The Oven Method

Find an oven tray and use some parchment paper on top of it. Put your cannabis on the tray, ensuring that it’s spread out evenly across the entire thing. Crank up your oven to somewhere between 125 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t put it any hotter than that. After about ten minutes, take the tray out of the oven for around five minutes. Flip over the cannabis to the other side, and then pop it back in the oven for another ten minutes.

The Light Bulb Method

Find some tin foil that’s around ten inches in size. You’ll need a light bulb that’s 100 watts. Anything hotter than that and you won’t get the same results. The light bulb should be around 2 to 4 inches away from the foil. Place the cannabis on the foil near the light bulb. Ensure that you flip over your cannabis around every 2 minutes. After about 15 minutes of doing this, you should be able to smoke it.

Radiator Method

Gather up your cannabis and either the buds inside an envelope or wrap some paper around them. If you have a water heater or radiator nearby, put them over it. If you have a TV, you can also place the cannabis behind the TV. This process could take a couple of hours, so leaving it there overnight is recommended.

The Microwave Method

With a flat plate, put the cannabis on the plate and set your microwave to a heat that’s around 50% of the full power. Set the time to around 12 seconds, remove it after 12 seconds, and then toss your cannabis around on the place so that each side will dry better.

Food Dehydrator

Not everyone will have a food dehydrator kicking around, but if you do, you can use one for drying cannabis quickly. It’ll take a couple of hours, but it should get the job done.

If you start noticing that your cannabis is getting too crispy, put the cannabis in a sealable bag or even a jar, insert an orange peel, and it should lessen the chances of crispy cannabis.

Additional Tips

Don’t increase the temperature higher than the recommended amounts on any of these methods, especially with the oven. Raising the temperature levels or leaving the cannabis to sit too long under extreme heat could sear the THC out of it, and the THC is exactly what you need to get high.
